The presentation card, shown here, contains a piece of wood shingle that was retrieved from the grounds of Peter Colley Tavern. It was found laying near the front door step of the vacant 1796 tavern. The property is located on the National Road in Brier Hill, Pennsylvania. The 200 or so year old stone tavern is still standing, but vacant and in need of repairs. Both the house and adjacent deteriorating barn are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The intent of making this piece of the past available to those interested, is so that others, who value history, can have, hold and help carry forward the memory of America's past accomplishments, as well as its failures, so future generations will not forget the important part the United States played in shaping the world we know today! Included with the wood piece is a real Coronet U.S. Penny from the early 1800’s. It is a coin that would have been used to purchase items or services while traveling the National Road nearly two centuries ago. The presentation card comes in an unique and informative folio with a certificate of authenticity. *** The presentation card was created and put together by Mark Yarris, R.L.A. for Art In Time(www.artintimegallery.com). *** Packaging, graphics, logos, layouts, formats and construction methods are copyrighted, 2010 by Mark Yarris, R.L.A.
