This product is unique, informative and fun. Included is a 10.5” tall model of the original mile markers that were placed along the National Road in the 1830’s. (Some of those original mile markers still remain along the National Road / U.S. Route 40 today.) The model mile marker was fashioned from a heavy stock paper product and scaled down using the dimensions from one of the original +175 years old mile markers, Mile Marker 63/68. That marker still can be found along Main St. (the National Road) in downtown Uniontown. The 10.5” mile marker serves as a table top display piece but also is used as a “box” to hold National Road related information, maps, reproduction document, two book markers and scalable mile marker drawings (all included and are 8.5” x 11” in size, except for the book markers). Also included in the drawings are plans on how to build a nearly full scale model of the uniquely shaped obelisk Mile Marker 63/68 from foamboard or wood. On the back of the included mini mile marker is the general history of the obelisk markers. The story of Mile Marker 63/ 68 is included with the plans. (Check out the third photo image showing a completed, nearly full scale model of Mile Marker 63/68 made from the plans. It was used at a National Road Art Event about 10 years ago. It is not included with this package.) *** The mile marker, logos and included items were created and / or put together by Mark Yarris, R.L.A. for Art In Time (www.artintimegallery.com). *** Paper and foamboard National Road Mile Marker designs, layouts, formats, logos and construction methods are copyrighted, 2010 by Mark Yarris, R.L.A.
